This is a tip for those people who need to edit eps drawings such as those produced by gnu plot or matlab without losing the vectoriness of them.
you'll need to emerge ghostscript, pstoedit and sketch.
Then you convert your file from eps to .sk, edit it and convert it back, you could even write a little script like so:

pstoedit $1 $1.sk -f sk
sketch $1.sk
sk2ps $1.sk $1
