I'm getting the following error from syslog-ng on an HPPA 712/80.
Code:
syslog-ng[]: io.c: do_read: read() failed (errno 11), Resource temporarily unavailable

I've done some google searches and found only information pertaining to HP-UX.

https://lists.balabit.hu/pipermail/syslog-ng/2006-April/008771.html

I'm using the syslog-ng.conf that comes with Gentoo.

Thoughts?

Well, I applied the patch referenced in the above post and it worked. I also tried what is described here:
http://lists.parisc-linux.org/hypermail/parisc-linux/9895.html
and that works also.

The question is, since I can't find an "accepted" answer, what should I do? Submit a bug? To which package (libol, hppa-sources)? Just ignore and fix myself every time?

It seems to be a problem with specific versions of libol / syslog-ng that I cannot as yet reproduce on x86. The reason I was not seeing this problem is that I only did a time-limited test of syslog-ng-1.6.11 with libol-0.3.18 before going back to syslog-ng-2* which does not exhibit the problem. The problem occurs strictly every hour for me on two PARISC systems.

Please file a bug and assign it to hppa@gentoo.org for now. If need be we could just reassign it.

I filed the bug https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159494 and CC'ed it to hppa@gentoo.org as I couldn't assign it. I've not filed very many bugs, so I hope I did it correctly.

Do you think syslog-ng-2.0.1 is going to be added to portage soon?

In addition, I'm using app-admin/ccze to colorize my logs on hppa and have had good luck with it. Any chance of getting at least a ~hppa added to it? Should I file a bug for that as well?

Thanks again for the response.

FYI - syslog-ng-2.0.1 that is now in portage solved all of my issues once I unmasked it.

Thanks again for the help.
