Hey,

I'm having quite a strange problem here. I guess it's a problem in the portage tree, but I'm not sure.

# emerge rsync
# emerge mozilla
Calculating dependencies \
!!! Error: couldn't find match for : in net-www/mozilla-1.0-r3

and mozilla-1.0-r3 is not masked:

# less /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask | grep mozilla
=net-www/mozilla-1.0
#=net-www/mozilla-1.0-r2
=net-www/mozilla-1.0_rc3-r2
=net-www/mozilla-1.0_rc3-r50
=net-www/mozilla-1.0_rc3-r51

And "emerge --clean rsync" doesn't help either. So my guess is that there is something wrong with the portage tree. I tried to fix it by deleting it and downloading a new one, but the problem remains.

Also note that I didn't specify that I wanted mozilla-1.0-r3, emerge picked it itself.

Any ideas? Maybe you could try the same (or, --pretend :D ) and tell me if you have the same problem.

Same problem here. Ran into it doing an emerge -p --update world this morning, and I took the same steps you did. Looks like something in the ebuild(?) is borked. Hopefully someone will take notice and an rsync will fix it.

That's all well and good, but a lot changes in the portage tree in 24 hours.

OK, so it seems to be a problem in the portage tree. Probably they'll fix it within a day or so. If not I'll file a bugreport.

Looks like a stray newline in the ebuild. Try running "emerge rsnyc --clean".

Already tried that, with no success. I looked in the ebuild file, but I didn't see an obvious error there. Though I must say I'm no expert on that point.

Also, both mozilla-1.0-r2.ebuild and mozilla-1.0-r3.ebuild have the problem. It seems unlikely that the problem is in the ebuild file itself, since the r2-ebuild has been around for some time now.

Well I had the exact same problem, until I updated portage to 2.0.11 as for a simple fix just do:

Code:

emerge /usr/portage/net-www/mozilla/mozilla-1.0-r3.ebuild

If that doesn't work try:

Code:

ebuild /usr/portage/net-www/mozilla/mozilla-1.0-r3.ebuild merge
