|
|
When I upgraded from amarok 1.4.3 to 1.4.4, amarok stopped scanning my collection in the background. Now when I add new music to my folder watched by amarok, it doesn't pick it up and I have to rescan the collection manually, which takes a long long time. BTW I am on amd64 and here are my amarok USE flags:
Code: | [ebuild R ] media-sound/amarok-1.4.4 USE="aac kde opengl -arts -debug -ifp -ipod -mtp -mysql -njb -noamazon -postgres (-real) -visualization -xinerama (-xmms%)" LINGUAS="-af -ar -az -bg -br -ca -cs -cy -da -de -el -en_GB -es -et -fi -fr -ga -gl -he -hi -hu -is -it -ja -ka -km -ko -lt -ms -nb -nl -nn -pa -pl -pt -pt_BR -ro -ru -rw -sk -sl -sq -sr -sr@Latn -sv -ta -tg -th -tr -uk -uz -zh_CN -zh_TW" 0 kB |
Anyone else have this problem? |

Have you enabled "Watch for changes (or similar)" in amarok's collection options? _________________

In my case amarok does try to update the collection but the process hangs... I have to kill it manually :/ |

Im having the OPPOSITE problem - amarok is PERMANENTLY "Updating collection". Goes from 0-100% and back to 0 again, indefinately.
Any ideas? _________________ Hysteriagaming.co.uk is now DOT COM! New design, forum, articles, the works! http://www.hysteriagaming.com

Amarok constantly scans my collection as well. It goes from 0 --> 100 --> 0 over and over again. Does anyone have a fix? |

It might be taglib.
Rebuilding taglib and amarok is always worth a try for collection scanning issues. _________________ mysql> SELECT question FROM life, universe, everything WHERE answer=42;

I added taglib in my package.keywords file, and rebuilt taglib and amarok but it unfortunately doesn't change anything |

those of you that it keeps scanning
1) Amarok version
2) What database.
I know that problem exists in svn, but I dind't think it existed in 1.4.4 |

1.4.4-r3 and whatever database you get with -postgres and -mysql. Just started.
Where is the database? Maybe I can just nuke that and start over?
EDIT: it is a squlite db in .kde/share/apps/amarok, and for me doing a rm -rf and rebuilding the db worked. Of course, losing everything related to statistics, etc... |
