| How about a flag you can set when you do an emerge -u world that will remove all the old packages from your system that you are upgrading. I don't see a real good reason to have two versions of KDE on the system, expect to test the new version first before you remove the old. So just having a flag you will have the option if you want to do it the way it currently is doing it or if you want the old stuff removed. It seems a pain every once in awhile to do a epm -qa and then look at all the old stuff and remove it. |

Portage supports doing this. It's the AUTO_CLEAN variable (or something); check /etc/make.globals. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |
