Dear all,

I'm trying to upgrade my gentoo, but when the system tries to emerge the arts package I have the following error:

Quote:

checking for char... yes
checking size of char... 1
checking for dlopen in -ldl... (cached) yes
checking for shl_unload in -ldld... no
checking if Qt compiles without flags... no
checking if STL implementation is SGI like... no
checking if STL implementation is HP like... no
configure: error: "no known STL type found - did you forget to install libstdc++-devel ?"

!!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully.
!!! Function kde_src_compile, Line -3993, Exitcode 1
!!! died running ./configure, kde_src_compile:configure

!!! emerge aborting on /usr/portage/kde-base/arts/arts-1.0.2.ebuild .

Any idea?

thanks

I had the identical problem! Do you have ccache installed? It sets up some sym links that I think confuse the configure scripts.

ccache is great, but it doesn't seem to play nice with portage-2.0.9 just yet and I haven't quite figured out why, so I just emerged the older portage-2.0.5 instead and all is well. I am unaware of any side effects...

If you're not using ccache, then I have no idea why you're getting the error. But your error is identical to mine.
