Hi Guy's
Tried installing FAM via tar.gz today ,and it came up with a message to do with accessing the initd config , when I run it I get
"Cannot register service: RPC: Unable to recieve; = Connection refused fam(2086): cant register with portmapper" , Im assuming something has to be added to the init.d config ???
I couldnt seem to see an ebuild hence downloading the tar.gz
Any ideas.......

Do /etc/init.d/portmap start. You will need to have net-nds/portmap installed.
Why do you need to use the tarball? fam has an ebuild. |
