Hi All. I am running out of ideas. I have installed a number of times and never get the system to run. The best I got was a GRUB prompt after reboot.
I followed the instructions each time and haven't where I could have gone wrong.
Any suggestions?

well for starters, where did you begin?
stage 1, 2, or 3
and what happens when it 'stops'?
does it just die.... or does it print out a bunch of error messages
if so youll want to post them so we can give you more help
keep on trying |

Hi All.
It's installed from Stage 1.
Most times the reboot causes it to go back to the BIOS POST.
One time I got a GRUB prompt that I could do anything with.
Any thing else I should tell?

hmmm, interesting...
another shot in the dark: you didnt by any chance compile everything with any kind of insane optimizations....
you can also try unplugging any hardware you dont absolutely need (especially usb stuff, that likes to give people problems) |

Hi All.
Got it. The problem was with the HD which was frustrating to track down.
Now to find why my tulip eth modules does not load......
The message after modprobe is "can't locate module Tulip".
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
James |

Um...did you compile tulip support into your kernel as a module?

You remembered select the module from the kernel config menu? |
