i wonder what the "market share" of each license in the portage tree is. are there any statistics?

you should write a script for that or ask someone to do so
but becarefull some licences are wrong such as:
->cedega licence(not verified)
->madwifi licence(madwifi include a closed source hal the rest of the licence is gpl and there is written gpl) |

Hrm, you should file bugs for any that you know are definitely wrong. |
