Pathset removed due to bugs and a request from the no-team. Please hang on to the official release

| Take please no offence, however I wonder if "unofficial no-source release" means something like unofficial rolex watch... |

eremini,
Thanks for your time on the unofficial release, however
I don't think it sits too well releasing to public as the same name as no-sources, because if the case happens where I release 2.6.18-rc4-no3 then this one will look newer, and it will look like the same patchset basically.
Lets get talking in IRC or email or PM or something so we can work something better out. (This is not really an approach I wanted to take)
Basically if you came on IRC sometime tonight, if I'm not there leave a message. and we'll talk about the temp maintaining posistion (for a week) which I was contemplating about. That would require though, official releases under the official name. So you'd be releasing -rc4-no3, not -rc4-no5.
I'd also send you my latest mix of NoSched patches, and other patches to be pushed (there are a few big experimental features I want to push), and you could send me the patch/ebuild/notes(notes are required for -no) and I'd upload them on oldos, and you'd be able to release it officially until I'm back in full swing, and we'll go from there
Just get to me on #conrad or #no-sources (I'm there all the time, not always active, and if I'm not there leave a message for me in a query <if you're registered on freenode>, or in the channel call my name)
I probally won't be at this computer either, I'll probally be doing homework or something. You can also private message me _________________ JOIN IRC!: #zen-sources on irc.rizon.net

I PMed you on IRC
To the rest:
Patchset updated
rm -rf /usr/portage/distfile/2.6.18-rc4-mm4.bz2
and emerge --digest no-sources
This should fix squashfs and NFS
Let me know |

@eremini: there is a serious issue with this kernel - after some tiome of using I got any working program (except of bash - I got still logged) "Destroyed" (that is the only one message I got) - I don't know the reason but it doesn't happen in rc4-no3. I wonder if anybody else had this issue? _________________ nBVCXz

| running it right now didn't have this issue, though I don't much like this mm release, hopefully the next one based on RC 5 will be nicer. |

Hello, so here is my comment:
Kernel boot fine(ACPI fixed rc4-no2 won't boot). After some time approx 5min. my system run out of memory.
Powernow-k8 still can't be compiled. _________________ AMD64 X2 3800+, 1GB RAM, Gigabyte GF7600

| I will pm you, but I suggest you wait for rc5-mm1 based one, it'll be official this time, with both me and cheater working on it |

ok, but I'll nevertheless give it a try (although mm3 was very buggy for me and didn't work 100%)
rc5-mm1 seems to have problems with smp, it kernel panics for me, maybe I should try to disable smp support ...
Update:
ok, your patch gave an error on squashfs 3.1, unionfs seems to work ... _________________ Unofficial minimal livecd x86/amd64 w/reiser4+truecrypt (by Neo2)

About squashfs its just a couple of lines that went missing, an #endif i think
It's not as tricky, just boring and takes some time. |
