|
|
i'm really liking fluxbox. one thing i miss from kde though: the 'always on top' option for a window. i love being able to float a small terminal on top of a maximized window even when i'm working in the maximized window.
any way of doing this? i didn't see any key command that looked right...
one other nit, something i liked from kde -- in kde, switching between apps with the alt-tab brings up a little window with icons and title, and when you get onto the app you want and let go, it brings up the window. current flux behavior is to just bring up the window itself, which i find a little disconcerting. is there something either native or another little applet that would do this? |

I'm pretty sure Fluxbox doesn't allow this feature. The 'slit' can do this, but I think that is the only one. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

That actually puts gkrellm in withdrawn mode (in the slit) and not actually 'on top'. If the slit is set to 'stay on top' mode, then clearly gkrellm will stay on top with the slit (and any other 'withdrawn mode' apps).
I'm surprised at the lack of a 'stay on top' feature in fluxbox. I'm used to watching Xawtv in a tiny window in the corner of my screen and it's a pain having to lift it above windows when launching/moving app windows. |

And gkrellm -w does not keep it on top even though my slit is set for 'always on top'. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

ok was my fault, its the " -o, --on-top" option. but with the -w option and fluxs slit-on-top option it works for me _________________ http://www.gentoo-de.org

Very strange because it works here. Did you set the slit options in fluxconf or by right clicking the slit? I've noticed that fluxconf fails to set various settings in the ~/.fluxbox/init file, despite appearing to have done so from the GUI. |

By right-clicking on the slit. The slit stays as always on top. Strange. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
