php.ini/formmail.php/postfix

I am having problems with this combination.

I'm trying to process an online form through formmail.

I've set up the box with postfix just for forwarding mail. I've set up formail for it and what I believe to be the one line in php.ini in the apache/conf/php.ini

I keep getting the same error though no matter what I change.

You have no mail exchange records for your email address.

this page worked fine on windows apache and I'm wondering what I'm supposed to change or if its a gentoo thing.
