Kopete crashing when I start typing

Hello, whenever I open up Kopete, I can't start typing to one of my AIM contacts without the program crashing. Only after about ten minutes or so of running but not being used does it gain any sort of stability. I don't have any plugins enabled. Please help

Hell, this version will at least be better than the one you are using; "net-im/kopete-0.12.0-r1".
