This morning I hummed the Ghostbusters theme and I had the idea of a small song to our beloved mods and admins.

'bout time the moderators were praised for keeping these forums tidy, and the admins for making them run like clockwork (as well as keeping the forums tidy too).
I do sometimes wonder what it's like to be one of "them". With power comes responsibility, and also the risk of being "grudged" by users who don't like mods/admins simply because of their power, often to right a wrong which they [the user] have commited.
The ability to take action at the right time to keep the forums tidy (e.g. locking and banning, moving and merging threads etc) and keeping cool about it is a talent. More praise should go to many of the mods and admins here; not only do they do the housekeeping, but also take part in discussions with users with what they talk about, just like they were users themselves.
Unfortunately I'm not that creative when it comes to poems and parodies like that, so all I can do is raise my glass to the mods and admins.

| I'm an admin on a Mandriva Board. We're not nearly as big having only about 16,000 users. But I must say the mods and admins here do a great job. Our guidelines are a lot stricter so we don't have any many conflicts. But I've been called an asshole for doing my job (user got suspended for three days), had pornography posted about me (I'm female) and a bunch of other stuff. It can be a very trying job at times. Then off course there's the whole issue of keeping the board up and running correctly. Keep up the good work guys! I love this board! |
