Hello everybody. I've just finished rebuilding my system but there's a bunch of packages that I'm unable to build succesfully. I suspect it may be issues with GCC4.1, and was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction. Here's stuff that will not build (obviously, all the sharps don't build because mono isn't available):
Code:

emerge -avuD gnome

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

Any information that could lead to resolving the above problems is much appreciated!

edit 1: Got traceroute to compile properly by turning off my additional FEATURES set in make.conf
My previous features was
FEATURES="buildpkg ccache confcache distlocks parallel-fetch sandbox userfetch userpriv"

I have disabled 'beagle' and 'mono' USE flags. I am now left with the following packages that do not emerge:
[ebuild N ] media-plugins/gst-plugins-ffmpeg-0.10.1 0 kB
[ebuild N ] media-libs/libmpeg2-0.4.0b USE="X sdl" 0 kB
[ebuild N ] media-plugins/gst-plugins-mpeg2dec-0.10.3 0 kB

edit 2: Switching back to gcc-3.4.5 and rebuilding libtools allowed me to emerge mono. The above three still fail with the same errors.

Likewise, though I was trying to emerge -uND kdebase-startkde.

I had similar problems with an undefined reference to BlitRGBtoRGBPixelAlphaMMX3DNOW. Since I have an Intel CPU without 3DNow I always wondered, why this 3DNow-related function is referred to. After a few greps through the sourcecode of libSDL I found an interesting part, where the use of the function is decided at runtime - weather to use BlitRGBtoRGBPixelAlphaMMX or BlitRGBtoRGBPixelAlphaMMX3DNOW:
File src/video/SDL_blit_A.c
Lines 2817 - 2829
Code:

#if MMX_ASMBLIT
                if(sf->Rshift % 8 == 0
                   && sf->Gshift % 8 == 0
                   && sf->Bshift % 8 == 0
                   && sf->Ashift % 8 == 0
                   && sf->Aloss == 0)
                {
                        if(SDL_Has3DNow())
                                return BlitRGBtoRGBPixelAlphaMMX3DNOW;
                        if(SDL_HasMMX())
                                return BlitRGBtoRGBPixelAlphaMMX;
                }
#endif

So, since I am a real brutal guy, I just commented out three lines resultuing in
Code:

#if MMX_ASMBLIT
                if(sf->Rshift % 8 == 0
                   && sf->Gshift % 8 == 0
                   && sf->Bshift % 8 == 0
                   && sf->Ashift % 8 == 0
                   && sf->Aloss == 0)
                {
//                        if(SDL_Has3DNow())
//                                return BlitRGBtoRGBPixelAlphaMMX3DNOW;
//                        if(SDL_HasMMX())
                                return BlitRGBtoRGBPixelAlphaMMX;
                }
#endif

and - POOF! - the whole thing works!
I am alredy filing a bug related to this 3DNOW-misdetection problem, since 'if(SDL_Has3DNow())' seems to return 'true' on my Intel CPU, which clearly is not the case. Maybe some other cpu-flags are misinterpreted.
@saffsd Could You please send me the output of 'cat /proc/cpuinfo'?
