Now, as the football world cup in Germany begins, another football project is finished: Bolzplatz 2006 (en: Slam Soccer 2006, fr: Coup de Foot 2006), the comic-style 3D-football-game, is available for download! This screenshot ( http://www.xenoage.com/temp/scrshot/bp2k6-2006-05-19.jpg ) gives a first impression of the game: It shows the celebration after the championship with fireworks and a smoke bomb in the background.
The game features:
* Funny 3D comic style
* Enthralling stadium atmosphere
* Keyboard and gamepad control
* 2-player mode
* Career and World Cup
* Build your own stadium
* 80 teams
* 20 stadiums
* 10 weather conditions
* 50 adboards
* 15 referees
* 9 commentators (5 German, 2 English, 2 French)
* and much more!
The best of all: The game is free and open source (GPL). It is coded in Java and is based on the libraries Irrlicht/Jirr (OpenGL), LWJGL with Ogg/Vorbis-extension (OpenAL), SDL/SDLJava and DOM4J.

Ah. I've forgotten to tell that the game doesn't work on AMD64-only systems yet
I'm working on that. But I've several "succes-stories" from "normal" Linux users
It's our first game, but feel free to criticise. _________________ Mit null lässt sich eine ganze Menge machen.

I must report, I'm not one of them. I installed the sun-jre-bin to get Java 1.5 and have enabled it for my user. The program runs, but is dog slow. The minimum resolution I am allowed is 1024x768 and window mode isn't honoured. I also tick the less fancy graphics box, but it's still not quite playable.
This all has me stumped, as the requirements are an 800MHz CPU, preferably 1.5GHz. I have a 1.5GHz Athlon XP, and a Geforce 6200. That should be enough surely? UT2k4 works! |

Shame, the game looks like fun, but it's too choppy to be playable. The movement seems to be jerky. I love the concept though.

[troll=on]Java sucks, it's a virus : it eats all your RAM, slows down your computer and is full of potential security holes. Stop making java shits now !

on my computer, it just doesn't run.
i have installed through the install.sh file, and now, when i want to launch it, it just show "starting bolzplatz2006" and stops. no error message
i'm on a laptop, P3M - 386Mo SDR - Ati radeon M6
My 3D acceleration works properly as glxgear shows 500 frames/sec _________________ jabber : nikwist@koreus.com
