I have been getting annoyed at the -march=pentium4 bug in GCC 3.1 while trying to bootstrap Gentoo 1.3b
I did a bit of a search on google for the bug, and came up with this:
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-prs/2002-05/msg01020.html
They seem to think the bug has been fixed in the CVS now. So the question is, can we either get an updated GCC 3.1 ebuild to use in Gentoo 1.3b, or can someone tell me how to try pulling down a fresh CVS to use (probably a lot more work than I would prefer ??)
I *really* want to see the -march=pentium4 bug go away |

1.3c will have the new release of GCC (3.1.1), which will be released in 2 weeks normally (delays are possible ofcourse), with 1.3c following a week after that.. So i guess just to use i686 on your bootstrap for now _________________ Bart Verwilst

Hehe, I don't mind waiting 2 weeks if I have to. I am still in the process of fine tuning an installation process that I can follow for each of the machines I have here to get each machine how I need it.
I've probably reinstalled Gentoo about a dozen times already, and I am not too fussed about starting over again |
