|
|
I'm trying to use mencoder 0.90rc4-3.2.2 to record through my bttv card.
It works fine playing tv through xawtv (using a passthru from the tv card out to the sound card in).
I searched this forum and put together the following command:
Code: |
mencoder -tv on:driver=v4l:norm=ntsc:device=/dev/video0:adevice=\
/dev/dsp1:width=320:height=240:chanlist=us-cable:channel=6:audiorate\
=48000 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1000:vme=5 -oac \
mp3lame -ofps 25 -o foo.avi
|
I'm running the following modules:
Code: |
nvidia 1468512 13
btaudio 9676 0
tuner 8832 1 (autoclean)
tvaudio 11132 0 (autoclean) (unused)
bttv 64032 1
i2c-algo-bit 7368 1 [bttv]
i2c-core 13832 0 [tuner tvaudio bttv i2c-algo-bit]
videodev 3712 3 [bttv]
8139too 13544 1
mii 2096 0 [8139too]
emu10k1 47240 1
ac97_codec 9448 0 [emu10k1]
soundcore 3300 7 [btaudio bttv emu10k1]
|
When I record I get output like this:
Code: |
...
Opening audio decoder: [pcm] Uncompressed PCM audio decoder
AUDIO: 48000 Hz, 1 ch, 16 bit (0x10), ratio: 96000->96000 (768.0 kbit)
Selected audio codec: [pcm] afm:pcm (Uncompressed PCM)
...
Video stream: 1179.020 kbit/s (147377 bps) size: 955006 bytes 6.480 secs 195 frames
Audio stream: 77.591 kbit/s (9698 bps) size: 62616 bytes 6.456 secs
|
But when I play it back in mplayer or xine, I get no audio. /dev/dsp is a symlink to the correct dsp device.
Any ideas why I don't have audio? Or how I can fix it?
Thanks. |

I figured it out.
Some dope skipped /dev/sound/dsp3 when checking the different dsps.
Stupid human!
Now I just need to get it to not play audio when recording... |

I have the exact problem as you, exact setup and everything. However, when I try to use mencoder to capture tv, I get no audio using /dev/dsp3. I can hear something, so it sounds like it's enabled, but the volume is just really low. Is it possible to adjust the volume of the btaudio device on /dev/dsp3 somehow? |
