I was wondering if there was a way to watch threads you haven't posted to, or stop watching threads you have posted to when you click on "View your posts". If there isn't such a feature, I'd like to recommend it, or if it's been suggested before, rerecommend it.
For instance, there are threads that I have posted to that I don't care to see that there are new posts in, there are also threads I don't want to post to because I don't have an answer and I don't want to post a "me to" post, but I would like to see the results without bookmarking the thread or anything like that.
If this feature would be a nightmare to code/maintain let me know, and I'll just disregard the thought. But if it is possible and wouldn't be to difficult to implement and plenty of people would find it a nice addition, I'd love to see it. Thanks in advance. _________________ Adopt an Unanswered Post

| If you're logged in, there should be a "Watch this topic for replies" link at the bottom of the page. Likewise, if you have chosen to watch a topic there's a "Stop watching this topic" link at the bottom, whether or not you have posted. You won't see either link if you're not logged in, I believe. Is this what you're talking about? |

Yes, it does alert you via email. I see what you're looking for now, some way to see this just on the "View your posts" page -- I should have read your post more carefully.
Personally, I would prefer to drag an automatically generated "RSS" link to my feed reader to stay on top of a thread. That way it wouldn't matter whether or not you commented, and you could see the post in the feed reader and click on a link there to go to the thread on the forums web site. Then delete the feed when you no longer wanted to see it. No automatic "subscribing" to the thread if you comment so you would only see the high-priority threads. |
