I just emerged apsfilter so that I could setup my printers and Im experiencing a strange problem. I used to use Slackware, but I have decided to switch to gentoo, so far I have switched 2 of my machines to gentoo in order to evaluate its abilities. Both of the gentoo machines are having the exact same issue while tring to use apsfilter setup. The setup starts fine by running "apsfilter" Then it goes through the screens and arrives at the main menu, so far everything is normal. But when I go into any of the driver selection screens when I get to the bottom of the list of supported printers, and Im supposed to now type the number of the driver, I cant. It says "[END]" and beeps at me when I hit enter. It then locks up and I have to "CTRL+C" to escape out. Both gentoo machines have the same problem. My slackware machines are also running the newest apsfilter, but with no problems at all. Can somebody Please help me.
Thanks, |

I got the apsfilter, but I still cant print. "lpr filename" makes the printer blink once, then freezes and never prints. Has anyone ever setup a printer in gentoo. I have a HpLaserJet III. If you know how, please post a how-to or something.
Thanks, |
