I compile and install the new kernel. I select "virtual console" and "support for virtual console" in Character device section. So I do not understand where is the problem... |

you should give more information on your problem. Error messages, what exactly you tried etc.
but i guess you didn't compile in devpty support. Its under "filesystem support -> pseudo filesystems (I think). _________________ Please put [SOLVED] in your topic if you are a moron. |

...No... Still the same problem...
So, every things work well, except than when I try to start konsole under kde, the console show up with a messagebox on it's top. The message just say: " impossible to opening an adapted terminal." |

I found that with Google:
Code: |
kernel 2.5.68, terminal, X, /dev/pts, mount, /etc/fstab, devfs
if you try to start a terminal under X in 2.5.68 (at least if you're running devfs, and you probably should be for 2.5 kernels), you may be out of luck, as it will fail to start
devpts is now out of devfs, and you should be doing the mounting via /etc/fstab. Try the following line:
devpts /dev/pts devpts defaults 0 0
|
I'll try that and give news... |
