Is any sound working, say window manager events?
Try this:
Code: | play some_sound_file.wav |
if it works, then your problem may be the wrong ouput driver selection in xmms. Make sure you have the Alsa output driver selected.
Cheers. |

What is the complaint? That errormessage would help us diagnose the problem. E.g., do you have artsd running and try to access /dev/dsp directly? _________________ regards, Esben

I don't have artsd running what is it?
My error message is:
Please check that:
You have the correct output plugin selected
No other programme is blocking the soundcard
Your soundcard is correctly configured
My output plugin is: OSS driver 1.2.7
This is my /dev/dsp dir
lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 9 May 4 22:53 /dev/dsp -> sound/dsp |
