|
|
I'm using Konqueror with KDE 3.5 as my default browser, and I've been having since long time a small but anoying problem with the emoticos and tags in the gentoo discussion forums.
Basically, every time I add a tag or emoticon, Konqueror always adds them to the end of the typed text. This happens regardless of where the cursor is positioned. Is there any way to fix this? Thankx |

Am I just the only one? Is this a problem in Konqueror or in the javascript code from the forums? |

Shouldn't someone fix this? I find it kind of a contradiction that the open source browsers have problem with the official gentoo forums, while IE works fine |

Moved from Desktop Environments to Gentoo Forums Feedback. This issue was apparently fixed with some new javascript. It works fine here on firefox. I'll have to have another look at the code to see why it isn't working correctly on Konqueror. _________________ Search | Read | Answer | Report | Strip |

Konqueror and Safari doesn't support the selectionStart function we use to get the cursor position. It's not implemented yet.
Demo: http://download.iansview.com/gentoo/forums/selectionStart-Demo.html
Firefox/Mozilla will return the cursor position. Konqueror/Safari will return 'undefined'. _________________ "To have a successful open source project, you need to be at least somewhat successful at getting along with people." -- Daniel Robbins |

I'm totally clueless about this stuff... just thought someone should point it out. Now is this a bug in Konqueror? I've searched in bugzilla but couldn't find anything.
Who should fix it? KDE team, Gentoo site admins, or is this one of those things that "just happen" and there is not much we could do about it? It would be really nice to find a workaround, it is a bit anoying when writing in the forums |

-Implement selectionStart, selectionEnd, and textLength on textarea
-Fix the value on physical wrapped mode to not invent spaces

willy-nilly
Among other things, makes phpBB editting buttons work. |
The commit was in the 3.5 branch, so it should be working in KDE 3.5.2 _________________ KDE 4.10 - Get It While It's Hot! |
