|
|
I am trying to create a new exchange account in evolution but the setup assistant won't let me procede.
On the wizard page where it has the dropdown for server types, I selected Microsoft Exchange but only a Username text field is available and filling that in does not highlight the Next button.
See these screenshots of the problem

how can I create an account like this? Thanks.

I have the same issue when trying to do the wizard from inside of evolution....It seems like a bug to me.
Run this instead:
/usr/bin/ximian-conector-setup-2.4
It WILL ask you for your owa site (must be inabled for the connector to work) and your GC server. If you don't know your GC server, there is an easy way to find out. However, you need to open up MS outlook in windows.
When you open it up, and it puts the Outlook / office icon (can't remember which) in your system try, hold down the CTRL key, and click on the icon in you system try (can't remember if it's right or left click, sorry.) There will be (if I remember correctly, it's been a while) a status or statistics option in the menu there. Click on that, and it will tell you the servers it's connected to. The GC server, in some shape or form is in there. I believe the GC server is "Global Contact" server which holds the contact list and such. It could be the same thing as your exchange server, or it could (more likely) be the active directory (evil!) server.
Thats what I did to get it to work for me. Let me know how it turns out. _________________ Regards,

The correct OWA url is really site specific...your going to have to ask your Sys Admin / Network Admin (who works the box). It all depends on if it's installed / turned on. Also, are you trying it from outside your corporate network? Access to OWA may be blocked by thier firewall.
Mine for example is:
https://[exchange dns name]/exchange
insert [exchange dns name] as your exchange's http dns name. like exchange.yourcompany.com _________________ Regards,

| That is enough for the OWA server but I'm not sure what you would put in for the global server on the next screen. Here I use our domain server name |
