save alsa setting in 2.5.68

im using kernel 2.5.68 and have alsa compiled in the kernel. the first time i set alsa up i unmuted master and pcm and used alsamixergui as my mixer. i just wanna know how to save my mixer setting so i dont have to unmute every time i reboot. thnx for the help

o yea, and since i use development kernel i have no /etc/modules.d/alsa, so i cant just edit that file, at least i dont think. then again, should i have that file when alsa is compiled in kernel. sorry for second post
