Posted: Wed Jun 26, 2002 3:07 pm Post subject: Emerge Xfree errors - need help |
|
|
Ok, I've recently installed Gentoo 1.1a on my laptop, all was well during the install, just a long process. First thing I wanted to do with it, after the first boot was emerge blackbox. so i did emerge rsync then emerge --pretend blackbox - and then emerge blackbox.
Well I get multiple error's everytime I try to do it, I've tried to emerge xfree by itself, same problems. the errors are occuring during xfree-4.2.0-r12 - I was wondering if there was a way to log the whole process so i can read through it and find where the error's initially start so I can report them to the forums and see if I can find a way to fix it.
Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Code: | emerge blackbox >& log.log |
logs all the output to log.log |

ahh, many thanks. I'll try that after this most recent attempt is done. Everytime i've tried so far it's been using xfree-4.2.0-r12 so this time i tried r11 hoping that may do the trick. I'll post the outcome, and if it's another failure ill log it.
thanks again |

ok, r-11 didn't work i did emerge blackbox >& log.log and it's just sitting a blinking cursor...is it because it's writing to log instead of screen? |

what kinda problem are you having ?
I have a prob too with xfree... it just won't compile anymore on my system (no matter what ebuild, I even tried it with the plain sources) ... the strangest thing is, I have been able to compile it before. It's just now, it's not working anymore.
