If you have installed and configured the X Window System (XF86 package) you can use "make xconfig". make xconfig uses a GUI (Graphical User Interface) that makes kernel configuration very user-friendly. :D

Three easy steps:

1. emerge tcl
2. emerge tk
3. make xconfig

After step 3, compile your kernel.
