cd /usr/portage/catagory/app/ ; emerge app-version.ebuild

i always cd to the dir and emerge the ebuild file. I just wondered if i am alone.

cd /usr/portage/<app group>/
ls # review apps
cd <app>
ls # review app-versions
emerge -f <app>.ebuild # At work

emerge <app>.ebuild #At home

I do it to keep track of the available apps, and to check versions for other software on my sys.

I use emerge, not sure what you folks are using ;)
