| modprobe, insmod, you name it, all of them are seg faulting after I emerged the new modutils tonight, I rebooted and nothing is working right now, I can get to my login and get on as root. But I get no networking nothing. Its just all dead. Help me please. |

Have you tried unmerging modutils, then emerging an older version?

maybe someone else who is on an i686 and is up to date with all the libs as of a couple days ago can send me their:
/sbin/rmmod, /sbin/modprobe, /sbin/lsmod, /sbin/ksyms, /sbin/kallsyms, and /sbin/insmod
Think that would work? |

Oh and so you know the only actual file is insmod, the rest are symlinks to insmod.

Ok, my system is hosed beyond repair. I need to rebuild from scratch. I dont want to lose my /home, my username and passwords, some settings in /etc and my /var/qmail
Someone tell me what I need to do... Its gcc 2.95, and a lotof users have personal things compiled with 2.95 so I want to stick with 2.95.. |
