|

We've been getting some really horrendous bug reports on bugs.gentoo.org. You as users are the most important QA resource we have. You can ensure the stability and robustness of Gentoo Linux by taking your time and giving us accurate, helpful bug reports. One person submitted a bug for logrotate because it had a DEPEND on "mailx" because he incorrectly assumed that it was a "GUI Mailer" had the individual ran "emerge search" he'd have seen that it is in fact /bin/mail. Here is a list of minimum requirements for a bug submission.
- Summary of problem
- System Information
- Package Version
- Output of commands that failed
- List of steps taken to cause the failure
Lastly read http://bugzilla.gnome.org/bug-HOWTO.html for a good guide for submitting useful bug reports. |

Changing title to make it a bit more prominent. Also making post sticky.

For purposes of Gentoo bugs, what qualifies as system information? _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
