I'm loving kde 3.5 beta 2 so far, except, somewhere along my emerge world, gaim seems to have gotten f#*$&ed over. I tried re-emerging gaim with no luck. firefox doesn't seem to be affected for some reason.
here's an example of what i mean

Also, mousing over top of the names or scrolling the window will return them to normal. but it will corrupt again a few seconds later.

I found this thread in the meantime.
there's no complete fix, only a option for nvidia cards (which I find slows things down a fair bit)

I have the same problem. Turning off RenderAccel doesn't cut it for me, since I don't use the nVidia binary driver, so I don't even have the option to begin with.
