So I'm on dialup starting from stage1 (without another Linux distro - I'll share details on my processes later). I'm just getting to stage2, and glibc 2.3 has been fetched. However, my problem is, ncurses doesn't seem to emerge correctly if I don't use scripts/bootstrap.sh (or at least it doesn't look like it does). I emerge it manually and it gives me the error that /lib/cpp failed the sanity check.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! |

I know that the bootstrap script builds glibc get built 3 times as part of the process, the first is very basic, built with the install gcc, then builds gcc and a few others then uses those to build glibc, then rebuilds the tools (gcc, etc.) using your new glibc then builds glibc again to check against the previous glibc. If something changed then the install process broke somewhere.
I am not sure this answers your question, Brian |
