Since I am using an AMD64 system (~amd64) my nano is giving troubles. Whenever I scroll through a document it is giving an output like this: Code: | get_buffer(): key_buffer_len = 1= 1
\usepackage{a4wide} Main: top anparse_kbinput(): kbinput = 258, meta_key = 0, func_key = 0, escapes = 0, byte_digits = 0, retval = 14 |
After closing nano the terminal contains a lot of lines similar to the following:
Code: |
Starting a new syntax type: "ebuild"
Starting a new colorstring for fg 2, bg -1
Adding new entry for fg 2, bg -1 |
The problem is occurring with any of the versions 1.3.6, 1.3.7, 1.3.8 that I have tried.
This practically leaves nano useless for me, if someone knows a solution for the problem I'd be glad to hear so.
If there is knowone knowing a solution I'll consider posting a bugreport to bugzilla. Also, if there is any additional information needed I'll be glad to provide you with it. _________________ The box said: 'install on Windows 95, NT 4.0 or better'. So I installed it on Linux. |

Just out of curiosity , have you tried using a precompiled binary of nano to see if that would work |

No, actually I haven't, mainly because I have not been able to find a binary precomiled for AMD64, if you can point me to one I will be glad to try it. _________________ The box said: 'install on Windows 95, NT 4.0 or better'. So I installed it on Linux. |

I use nano on my AMD64-setup (mostly stable amd64) and it works without problems. The stable version now is 1.3.7.
Since you're running unstable amd64 (~amd64), if I understand correctly, I guess that's the risk you're taking... I would advice you to wait filing that bug report until you're sure that it's nano that causes the problems, not some other instability in your setup. _________________ Gentoo (64 bits) on AMD64 X2 4400+, MSI K8T Neo2-FIR, 2 Gb RAM, 320 + 160 Gb SATA, nVidia Geforce 6600 |

Hi Kerie:
Try emerging nano with "-debug" in the USE flag. I guess that the "debug" USE flag is giving you the trouble. |
