After my postfix machine processes one of our mailshots I have about a 1 in 3 chance of having a really messed up disk. So messed up that e2fsck segfaults....

I have tryed running badblocks but it reports none. If I drop into single user and run e2fsck I can clean up the disk and everything is fine.... utill I do another mailing or two. Any ideas anyone? Why does it do this? What troubleshooting can I do? It's not the controller (It does this on two different ones) so is it the disk? If it's the disk then why? Is it the motherboard? Is it postfix? Please.... any clues or ideas most welcome. Even any advice about where else or whoelse I could ask....
PS Some may notice that this is a bit a of a dup post, I asked about this before (https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=254465). Sorry, I'm at the end of my teather and I have come along a little since then.... This is also our first in house gentoo server and I don't want the boss to scratch it because I can't get it to work as well as it's Win32 counterpart.... |
