|
|
My old server was running Gentoo on a Pentium II with 2 discs, both reiserfs, which was on the verge of breaking down (cpu too hot, fan not working, etc).
I switched to an Ultra Sparc 5 and installed Gentoo as well. Everything worked just fine.
But then I wanted to add the two discs of my old server to the new server. That didn't go just fine.
I get:
Code: | #mount -t reiserfs /dev/hdc /hd2
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdc, or too many mounted file systems |
Without the -t:
Code: | mount /dev/hdc /hd2
mount: you must specify the filesystem type |
The directory hd2 does exist.
Reiserfs is compiled in the kernel.
Reiserfsprogs is emerged.
Reiserfs is listed in /proc/filesystems
PC bios partitions are compiled in the kernel.
What am I doing wrong?

are you sure that /dev/hdc is the disk you like to mount? Usually if there are any partitions in /dev/hdc they'd calles /dev/hdcx where x stands for the partitionnumber.. |
