Hello again.
I am going to be building a new system soon for the express purpose of home studio recording. I came across a post on the linux audio users list that stated that devfsd was strongly contra-indicated for a home studio machine.
The install docs for Gentoo dictate that you install devfsd. They make no mention (that I saw) of installing gentoo without this feature. I am willing to bet, however, that this can be done but I am not certain how to do this.
Anyone ever try installing Gentoo without devfs? Any thoughts on the claim that devfs should not be present on a home studio machine?
Thanks for any input! _________________ To look without without looking within is like looking without without looking at all. |
