I just installed zinf and net-rhythmbox and they both seem like cool mp3 players , except for the fact that they can't play mp3s correctly. When I play mp3s on either one, they are played almost twice is fast, obtaining the chipmunk effect. I don't know why this is happening. XMMS plays all my mp3s like normal. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

I'm not sure if this will help, but I got a message from net-rhythmbox:
Code:
** (net-rhythmbox:6171): WARNING **: couldn't set requested OSS parameters, enjoy the noise :)

Rhythmbox (both Net and regular) use GStreamer. Unfortunately, GStreamer doesn't have that great of configuration tools (at least that I've heard about). In order to get mine to work, I set it to use esdsink for the audiosink, back when I was using Gnome, and when I switched to KDE I changed it to artssink. Either way, the audio is fantastic. :) If you're using the OSS (kernel sound) I suggest you follow the ALSA tutorial on gentoo's site, CPU usage will be a lot less (if you're adventurous, you may even think about checking out the 2.5 development kernel). Also, make sure you have the latest version of GStreamer.

The way that I set up GStreamer is by using gconf-editor, finding audiosink, and chaging it to "artssink" but you may want to search for gstreamer-config or something.

Good luck!
