Hey Guys!
I'm trying to get my soundblaster live to work.

For days I've been reading this forum and trying to get it to work using the emu10k1 driver. Wopsidue, the Dell card is based on another chipset acording to http://opensource.creative.com/. They point to http://www.opensound.com but since I'm a total newbie I'm still lost. I can't find an ebuild that installs OSS, so I'm gonna try installing from their site. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Dell's hardware has been proprietary AFAIK. What information can you get about it? If you need to you can emerge pcitools and do lspci -v.
Also, have you looked into alsa, it might support your soundcard.

EDIT: I found this on another board. It might be helpful.

Dell ships a card with the Dimension line called the "SoundBlaster Live 5.1" (CT0200) which doesn't work with this (or any other) Linux driver. If you are ordering a Dell, tell them you are using Linux and they should be able to sell you another SoundBlaster which will work.

Yeah, I know about the dell thing, that's the problem. Now I get OSS working, but only 2 out of 4 speakers and no Sub... working on it though...
