| ...from other apps like Grip and KsCD? I've not been able to play CDs with these apps since installing KDE, but I can use Konqueror to play them via Kaboodle or Noatun? Strange stuff. I use OSS/EMU10K1(module)/ARTS. |

run them like this:
artsdsp <application name>
it pipes them through arts. _________________ ^<^>^<^>^

| thanks, I tried them, but no luck. it's not a real problem, since I have an alternative way of playing audio CDs. I did check my arts status with artscontrol and it says "arts should be run with realtime scheduling but it does not (ls artswrapper suid root). The aRts sound daemon is suspended. Legacy applications can use the soundcard now." I tried this command as root, but no change in behavior. I also have it checked that the arts daemon should start when KDE is loaded. Thanks for any ideas. -eric |
