|

I ran through the installation instructions, which correctly got my ethernet card working. (Although it took a little forum searching to get emerge configured for an http-proxy). The installation went cleanly, except for some strange errors at the end of the kernel compile. It said something about a "net" directory it couldn't find. Since it still created a bzImage, I concluded that it wasnt' such a big deal.
At the very end, it mentions that you should verify the contents of /etc/init.d/pcmcia. I didn't have a pcmcia file in that dir. Still, I persisted and finished the instructions. After rebooting, I eth0 fails to start.
I believe that this problem is due to my lack of PCMCIA (I compiled PCMCIA support into the kernel, btw). I cannot "emerge pcmcia-cs", becuase my eth interface isn't working. Any ideas??? |
