Regarding deleting all your posts, that is not possible (search for the same request from Lovechild).
But I can (and will) block your account if it makes you happier. _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." -- Calvin |

Yes I've just read that thread and agree with you that I would feel insulted if anything serious I was involved with was moved into OTW, which I'm happy to say doesn't even show up on 'view posts since last visit' any more.
Someone needs to look at the rules fast in my opinion.

Come on, there is nothing wrong with being moved to OTW. Stop making a tempest in a water glass. _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." -- Calvin |

The forums and the userbase are growing bigger every day, which doesn't make things easier to organize for us. We are always trying to improve the forums for the users, one of the last inventions was the Unsupported Software forum. It helps a lot. On the one hand it's a place for users to talk about their Gentoo-related projects, on the other hand it does not "taint" the official support forums with officially non supported software. Having threads about unsupported software in the official part of the support forums is not exactly useful for the developers since they shouldn't have to deal with that kind of stuff there. As part of this change, we might have started to look at bit closer at the status of software than we did before. This means, we move everything not officially supported by Gentoo to either US or OTW.
If some thread ends up in OTW it does just imply one thing: It's not related to Gentoo. OTW is more than politics and religion. You can talk about everything, including the software you wrote. I also think that quite a lot of interested folks are following in OTW, so it does even get attention.
The problem with OTW not showing up on default searches is a feature that had been requested by lots of users for quite a long time. If this applies to your thread you have to accept that this is still the Gentoo Forums, your thread in OTW and threads in OTW don't show up because the userbase wants it. We don't move threads to OTW intentionally to punish or insult people.

We are always working on improving the forums by both implementing new features and rethinking rules. Unsupported Software was one of the results, ignoring OTW in default searches as well. ian! and tomk are doing great work, but you can't make everyone happy. If we had not implemented ignoring OTW in searches no one would feel treated unfairly, but users would request the feature. _________________ Dinosaur week! (Ok, this thread is so last week) |

I have no longer any interest of beeing part of this community after more than 3 years.
This forum currently have moderators and adminsitrators whos personal hate is clouding their visions.
It's sad to see that political rightwing/religious mods and administrators nio longer have the ability to see beyond their own ideas and let their hatred for other people dominate their actions. I could name the mods and admins in question but they know very well who they are.
I'm sure this thread will be deleted within in minutes since they can not stand critique and are not men enough to admit their own animosity and actions.

No, just if something breaks (e.g. you try to change your email address and the activation mail gets lost somewhere). _________________ Dinosaur week! (Ok, this thread is so last week) |

But if you did that, you'd have each occasional user who wants his account deactivated, making a new thread in this forum for his request. |

I really don't have a clue why people would want their accounts deactivated in the first place. If you don't want to be around here, go away - no need for banning/disabling the account and just extra work for the admins.
So if someone really really feels the need to disable his/her account:
Goto Profile -> set a new email address -> DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK IN THE ACTIVATION EMAIL! DELETE IT IMMEDEATELY!

Heh. I guess they just can't help themselves.
Maybe people think that "disabled" is similar to "deleted". _________________ For every hammer there is a nail.

We could just continue to merge their threads to this one, and ignore the requests. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

You talk about supressing hatred yet it seems to have taken you too, maybe you're just sad and/or I can't interpret you well, just making a point. You'll be long gone and won't read this anyway. _________________ (\ /)
