Please pardon my idiocy, but I just yesterday attempted to emerge -uDpv world my system yesterday for the first time in a couple months. Naturally, it asked me to move to a 2005.0 profile.
In doing so, it seems to want me to downgrade my headers to 2.4, but will permit me to retain my 2.6 sources. Is this actually advisable? If so, will it break anything I have currently compiled and running?
If it is not advisable could someone please point me in the right direction to keep my 2.6 headers? I've tried a couple variations of package.keywords and package.unmask, but the best result I seem to get is downgrading to 2.4.
If you need any additional information, just ask. I am at a loss as to what might be desired information. |

The problem is using 2.6 headers with a 2.4 kernels since it'll try to use newer kernel syscalls.
The other way around (what you're doing) is no problem at all. _________________ Gustavo Zacarias
