I heard this si in the works, and I ahve been hearing a lot fo negative thigns about it. I heard that this is very ahrd to accomplish well, will make both desktops slower, will require more testing and messsing around with KDE's already excellent framework, require a lot of development... etc.
Wha is your opinion, personally all I care for are nominal improvements in interoperabiltiy. Themes should work on both desktops, notification area, keyboard shortcuts to be the same i(via option) and ability to create an app embedding GTK parts in KDE apps and vice versa.
I think they are too different to merge successfully and is a waste of development. It will also probably differentiate the framework from Qt too much, make it harder to use etc. I want KDE to continue in teh direction tehy are movng except focus a little more on simplicity, usability, bug fixing and optimizations. _________________ No one is a virgin, life screws us all. |

well I never had any problems related to this, because I use enlightenment, which supports both, KDE and Gnome... _________________ I'm really wondering what Lovechild is doing nowadays... |
