Is kernel 2.6 stable on sparc yet and if so does anyone have a good sparc specific migration guide (or is the generic one good enough?)
I just tried to upgrade gnome to 2.10 and received an error message stating that dm-crypt must be enabled in my kernel and I can't seem to find it, I think it replaced cryptoloop in the 2.6 kernel and I'm still running 2.4.29.
I got around it by adding the "-crypt" keyword but I'm not sure if that is the best way.
I know most of this is better asked in other forums but since the x86 crowd is mostly already on 2.6, there doesn't seem to be many people experiencing this
thanks,

The dm-crypt thingie is because of a feature on the newer cdrtools.
You can just USE=-crypt for cdrtools and you'll be fine instead of doing so globally (man portage -> package.use).
You'll actually get the same compile error on x86 if you didn't compile your kernel with dm-crypt support enabled. _________________ Gustavo Zacarias
