I enherited a p3 1.13GHz Tualatin. Now i'm looking for a bargian on a mobo (B-grade prolly) and I have seen some cheap dual proc mobos.
will there be any kind of probleme running such a motherboard with only one processor?

their shouldn't be any problems but some boards require a null card in the slot where the second cpu would be. a single board should be much cheaper to buy though..

Maybe he's going to wait until the processor he wants for the second slot goes down in price.

Pentium III? They don't drop in price (they already have); you're still looking at ~ $130 per CPU. (This is a good place to pick up Pentium IIIs. I've gotten 3 from them.)

Anyway, every dual P3 mobo I've seen works with a single processor. In fact, one of my dual P3 mobos broke and now only works in a single processor mode. ;-)

I have done duals in fact I have done racks of duals. Some I did are all over the world!

Yeah, I have a BP6 and it works with one and doesn't need a null card. Some dual-mobos DO need the null card though - completely depends on the board. My Compaq ML350 600mhz server has the null card in the 2nd slot.
