Hello everyone,
I'm doing an install on a computer using knoppix. I've done many installs and I have never had the problem I am having now and I can not find a way to fix it. I have followed the install guid up to emerge -e system, and when it gets to dev-libs/openssl-0.9.7e-r1 it checks the md5 sums and then errors out with you need perl 5. So I tried to emerge perl and that errored out with something about kernel not configured, so I emerged a kernel, configured it, and make && make modules_install errored at the end but the package finished emerging, so I tried to emerge perl again, but a package errored out telling me I didn't have perl. I would assume that would be because there are many depends that I don't have installed from emerge system that perl needs, but it's just a big circle and I don't understand a way to fix it. Right now I am doing emerge -e system and when it errors out on the package I am going to do an emerge --resume --skipfirst and let it finish and try to emerge perl again and then emerge the app that won't install. If anyone has a real fix that would be great. Here is emerge info. Code: | # emerge info
