Sleeping is for babies, ebuild hacking for.. well.. nerds?
Anyways, made an ebuild file + patch to get the program work under Gentoo + init.d script. This is loosely based on v1.0 ebuild, but had to hack it quite alot, just because gnump3d 2.x is written in Perl and the older versions in C++ (and the ancient one in C).
So here are the links to project homepage, bugzilla and to my personal site (for grabbing the files):

Ok I started to use the 2.2 ebuild and I started to notice some strange things. When someone requests a directory contents (directory browsing was enabled) the processor would go nutz. One of my directories had about 408 files and about 208 folders...it took it 1:04 sec to display the contents (over a 100 Mbps lan). I think I should also mention that the filesystem the mp3's were sitting on was ext2...i dunno if that is important...i don't think so. Now I have my MP3's on reiserfs, and I am running 1.0. Let me know if I can be of further help.... |
