Hi
I'm trying to install CC: Red Alert under winex 2.01
I start it useing: $ winex /mnt/cdrom/setup.exe
Setup starts just fine, but then i get this error message:
Unable to locate necessary files. Please run Setup.exe from the CD-ROM.
I get the same error if I try to start setup.exe with wine.
I've also tried to mount a image-file of the cd-rom, but I still get the same error. |

Perhaps try to cd to /mnt/cdrom first. Then try to make winex execute the installer from there.
If that doesn't work, perhaps double check your configuration file in ~/.wine or ~/.winex and see if the device section for CD-Rom is correct? |

Hi
I tried to cd to /mnt/cdrom, but I still get the same error message. I also edited the config file. Added this to it:
[Drive F]
"Path" = "/mnt/cdrom"
"Label" = "cd-rom"
"Type" = "cdrom"
"Device" = "/dev/cdroms/cdrom0"
"FS" = "win95"
Still the same error..
I'm running scsi-emulation, could that be the problem? |
