I seem to be having a tcl/tk problem. I emerged both tcl and tk, and emerged gentoo-sources, but now when I try to make xconfig I get :

newhiro linux-2.4.19-gentoo-r7 # make xconfig
rm -f include/asm
( cd include ; ln -sf asm-i386 asm)
make -C scripts kconfig.tk
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.19-gentoo-r7/scripts'
cat header.tk >> ./kconfig.tk
./tkparse < ../arch/i386/config.in >> kconfig.tk
-: 309: can't handle dep_bool/dep_mbool/dep_tristate condition
make[1]: *** [kconfig.tk] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.19-gentoo-r7/scripts'
make: *** [xconfig] Error 2

Does anyone have an idea what might be the problem? I did
"make mrproper clean" first, but that didn't help...thanks for any ideas.

I just noticed this problem happens with linux-2.4.19-gentoo-r-7, (gentoo-sources) but not with uml-sources or vanilla-sources.

Mayb you should try this in a term window.

cd /usr/src/linux-2.4.19-gentoo-r7

make menuconfig.

2 solutions
- make oldconfig before make xconfig
there are APM new

or

bash-2.05a# cd linux
bash-2.05a# pwd
/usr/src/linux
bash-2.05a# vim arch/i386/config.in
line 309

before
------
define_bool CONFIG_PM n
comment 'Power Management options'
dep_tristate ' Advanced Power Management BIOS support' CONFIG_APM
if [ "$CONFIG_APM" != "n" ]; then
bool ' Ignore USER SUSPEND' CONFIG_APM_IGNORE_USER_SUSPEND
------

after
------
define_bool CONFIG_PM n
comment 'Power Management options'
dep_tristate ' Advanced Power Management BIOS support' CONFIG_APM $CONFIG_APM
if [ "$CONFIG_APM" != "n" ]; then
bool ' Ignore USER SUSPEND' CONFIG_APM_IGNORE_USER_SUSPEND
------
