How to patch Warcraft III?

Hi

I finally got Warcraft III to work under winex. Everything runs very well except battlenet.
It seems that a patch is required to run battlenet.

Could anybody please explain how to patch WCIII. I replaced the WC3.exe with the "no CD Version". Even when I changed back to the original WC3.exe the patch still complains about the registry. May be I downloaded the wrong patch - I honestly do not know where to start .

I once upon a time had warcraft iii working under winex. At the time all I did was attempt to connect to battlenet and let it download the patch like that. I don't know why it worked for me an not for you, but maybe a fresh install then attempt to connect is in order.

It's a bit complicated but it should work.
